Staley Band Legacy Celebration

As we prepare for the closing of Frisco's original middle school in May 2026, the band department would like to begin planning an event just for current and former band students and their families.  There will be other events planned for our closing, both at the district and campus level, but this would be a separate event just for our band families. 
When: Wednesday 4/29 from 5p-8p (come and go event?)
What: A time to come together, have a great time, and possibly make some music together one last time!
Who: All current and former students and families are invited!
Where: Staley Band Hall and Cafe

​Donate! Our band budget is already set for the year and this is an additional event that we would love to see happen.  The amount we spend on this event will be tied to donations- the more donated the more we can do.  100% of donations earmarked 'Legacy' will be used for this event and will be run through the SMS Band Parent Association (SMSBPA)- a 501(c)3 non-profit whose sole purpose is to support the students and families of the Staley Band.  p.s.- our goal is to raise at least $2000 to make this event really special.  If you or your company would like to be a corporate sponsor please click the link below to learn more.
Share Memories and stories! 
​If you would like to share some memories or stories we would love to hear them.  Mr. Wood can also share with former directors if you want him to.
Upload Photos! Do you have photos or other media of the Staley Band or your student during their time at Staley?  Please consider sharing!  We have two photo circle links below, one for the last five years (2020-2025) and one for the years before that (1996-2020). 

​There is also one for this year (2025-2026) but that will be shared directly with our current members.  If there is a lot of interest in sharing photos we will create a smaller breakdown as needed.​
​Attend our event!  When more details are available we would love to have all Staley Band supporters come back to Staley to celebrate and send us out in style.  We do not know what this will look like (much of it depends on donations raised) but it could range from playing some tunes together to getting some Staley Band Legacy Swag, to other surprises.  The real celebration will be getting to see former students, staff, families, and supporters come back together to reconnect with amazing friends and reflect on the great times and music that we have shared over the years.
